How it works

Chemical Peels are a type of skin resurfacing procedure designed to reveal brighter, more radiant skin. At Glo we utilize 3 different types of peels ranging from superficial to medium strength. The procedure itself takes minutes and is performed in our office. A chemical solution is applied to the skin by one of Glo’s skincare professionals. The solution removes the top layer of dead dull skin promoting the body to push new healthy skin cells to the surface.

FAQs

What are chemical peels, and how do they work?

Chemical peels are skin resurfacing procedures that involve applying a chemical solution to the skin. This solution exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cells, encouraging the growth of new, healthy skin cells. The process helps improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

What types of chemical peels are available at Glo?

At Glo, we offer three types of chemical peels: superficial, medium, and deep peels. Superficial peels use mild acids like alpha hydroxy acid to gently exfoliate, while medium peels penetrate deeper to remove damaged skin cells. Deep peels provide a more intensive treatment for severe skin issues but require longer recovery.

Are chemical peels safe for all skin types?

Chemical peels are generally safe for most skin types, but the suitability of a peel depends on individual skin concerns and conditions. Our skincare professionals at Glo will assess your skin and will recommend the most appropriate peel type for your needs.

How long does it take to see results from a chemical peel?

The results of a chemical peel can differ depending on the type of peel and individual skin conditions. Superficial peels may show immediate results with brighter and smoother skin, while medium and deep peels may take a few days to reveal full results as the skin heals and regenerates.

What should I expect during the recovery period after a chemical peel?

Recovery time varies based on the peel’s strength. Superficial peels may cause slight redness and flaking for a few days, while medium peels might require a week of recovery with more noticeable peeling. Deep peels require a prolonged recovery period, with potential swelling and redness lasting several weeks.

How often should I get a chemical peel for the best results?

The frequency of chemical peels depends on the type of peel and your skincare goals. Superficial peels can be done every 3-4 weeks, while medium peels are typically recommended every 3-6 months. Deep peels are usually performed once a year. Our professionals at Glo will guide you on the best treatment schedule for your skin.
